Many newbie web designers want a way to put a contact form on their website but do not know how. Allowing visitors to contact you through your website is an important way to both allow quick contact and also helps to eliminate spam by hiding your email address from spambots. Unfortunately, many newbies attempt to use the "mailto" scheme as their form's action. This is bad for many reasons. Still others use what is called "Matt's Formmail" script for their form's action. This has been regarded as unsafe and certain versions of that script has "become a favorite tool of spammers". I've created a very simple and easy to use contact form system for use on some of my sites and it is now available as a download complete with instructions. This "system" comes with the complete code for the form, the script, and the redirect.

FormBuilder is a PHP class that simplifies the process of creation and validation of HTML forms. It can also output the results in a text form and email them. FormBuilder in essence manages a collection of field classes that implement a standard interface defined by the FormField class. Classes currently implemented include text fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, popup menus, date/time, etc. The generated form can be fully customized through CSS. The current version of FormBuilder is already very usable, but there are some improvements in planning: Better validation, more types of Fields and database integration.

This script pre-registers and confirms a user by e-mail. It features an anti-spam protection by enabling the owner of the e-mail account to blacklist their e-mail address. IPs are logged.

This script generates and checks a turing number. A turing number is a number the user has to read and copy in order to be able to validate a form. This avoids automated submissions (bots...). There is a version using a MySQL database, and another version (available on the site - see the link at the top of the script page) that uses sessions instead, so you don't need MySQL on your server.

I find that when developing input forms, adding select tags is one of the most tedious tasks. This is especially true if they have to remember the values assigned to them. Realizing this, I wrote this function to facilitate things. This is the PHP version of select-populator.asp.
