If you want some CGIs on your site to run automatically at certain times, and you don't have access to Cron, then this CGI will help you by imitating Cron. You just need to load the CGI in an image tag (instructions provided with script) on a page of your site that is visited at least once a minute. Fake Cron will still run CGIs that it missed, so it's not that bad if wasn't run for more than 1 minute. The LWP::UserAgent Module is required (most server's already have this, if not, ask your web host to install it).

Unlike many FTP CGIs who only imitate an FTP server, SmartFTP really connects to any FTP in the world! It does not only display files on the same server the CGI is installed on, but opens a real FTP connection. It lets you view files and browse an FTP, all on your web site with your design (colors, links, ad banners, etc...). It even has the basic features of an FTP program, such as deleting, renaming, making new directories, and more. Plus, some extra features most FTP programs don't even offer: Creating and editing any file (such as HTML or Text), which makes things faster and easier than using a seperate editing program for files. Advantages (why use this instead of FTP software on your computer?): 1. Not everyone knows how to use FTP software. 2. Not all web browsers connect to FTPs, and none have as many features as SmartFTP. 3. Customized look. Why lose your visitors when you send them to an FTP to download files? You can easily create a constantly growing list of email addresses. It extracts all addresses of your log files or other text files, removes duplicates and sorts the list. You can also let the script create a blacklist for you. With each run the list of email addresses will be revised. All parameters can be set inside a configuration file including the regular expression for the email addresses. Originally, the script was written for processing Postcard Direct log files, but it can be used for any kind of text file containing email addresses.
